Afghanistan, Sept. 26 -- The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi movement toward the southwestern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait, as cross-border attacks continued to escalate after months of relative calm.
Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Malki said Saudi air defenses intercepted the missile before it reached its intended target. Authorities did not report casualties or damage from the attack.
