Afghanistan, Aug. 15 -- Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have condemned an attack on two oil tankers belonging to the United Arab Emirates' state-owned oil company in the Strait of Hormuz, with Riyadh holding Iran responsible for the incident.
Al Jazeera reported on Friday, August 14, 2026, that Saudi Arabia described the attack as a "dangerous escalation" and a "direct threat" to maritime shipping and global energy supplies. The Saudi Foreign Ministry said it held Iran fully responsible for the consequences of the incident.
Kuwait's Foreign Ministry also condemned what it described as an Iranian attack on the two Emirati vessels in the strategic waterway.
