Afghanistan, Aug. 23 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin said Saturday that Russian forces have accelerated their advance across the battlefield, insisting Ukraine's recent attacks have failed to change the situation on the front lines.
Speaking to Russian state television channel Vesti, Putin said Russian troops were "advancing on all fronts" and moving faster while continuing to pursue what Moscow calls the objectives of its "special military operation" in Ukraine.
"Our forces are not only continuing to advance in all directions, but they have also increased the speed of their movement," Putin said.
He added that Russia would continue military operations until it achieves its stated objectives.
