Afghanistan, June 14 -- Russia has said that nuclear weapons deployed by Moscow and Belarus provide reliable security for both countries and serve as a powerful deterrent against what it described as threats from Ukraine and NATO.
In a statement issued ahead of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's visit to Minsk, Russia's Foreign Ministry said the military and security partnership between Moscow and Belarus had expanded significantly in recent years amid growing geopolitical tensions in Europe.
