Afghanistan, Aug. 2 -- U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has claimed that American military strikes against Iran have pushed Tehran toward negotiations over its nuclear programme and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, saying the attacks weakened Iran's defensive capabilities.
Rubio made the remarks in an interview with Fox News, according to Al Jazeera, on Sunday, August 2.
The U.S. secretary of state said American strikes had significantly reduced Iran's military capabilities, arguing that Tehran no longer had the "conventional shield" it previously relied on. He said Iran still retains missile and drone capabilities but is now facing greater pressure.
