Afghanistan, July 6 -- Cristiano Ronaldo said he has not decided when he will retire from professional football, insisting the decision will be his alone as he focuses on Portugal's Round of 16 match against Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking at a pre-match news conference on Sunday, the Portugal captain said his priority was helping his team advance in the tournament rather than discussing the end of his playing career.
"I will decide when the time is right," Ronaldo said, adding that whenever he retires, he will do so with a clear conscience because he believes he has given everything to football. He also said representing Portugal has remained one of the greatest honors of his career.
