Afghanistan, July 7 -- Afghanistan's vehicle parts market has nearly ground to a halt as border closures and regional conflicts disrupted imports, raising costs and crippling businesses.
Afghanistan's vehicle and auto parts trade has fallen into a severe slowdown after border tensions with Pakistan and conflict in the Middle East disrupted key supply routes, leaving traders in southern Kandahar province struggling with rising costs, stranded shipments and declining business.
The Spin Boldak market, one of Afghanistan's largest centres for imported vehicle parts, was first hit when cross-border violence with neighbouring Pakistan led to the near-total closure of the frontier in October.
