Afghanistan, March 22 -- The Qatar Ministry of Interior confirmed that all seven people onboard a military helicopter were killed after the aircraft crashed in territorial waters.

In a statement released Sunday evening, authorities said search and rescue operations had concluded, with the deaths of all crew members officially confirmed.

Earlier, the Qatar Ministry of Defence said the helicopter went down after suffering a sudden technical failure during a routine patrol mission.

Officials stated the aircraft lost control while flying over Qatari waters, emphasizing that the flight was part of standard operational duties and not linked to combat activity.
