Afghanistan, May 20 -- Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that economic cooperation remains the main focus of talks with Xi Jinping during his visit to Beijing.

According to Anadolu Agency, Putin said relations between Russia and China had reached an "unprecedented level," adding that bilateral trade has increased more than thirtyfold over the past 25 years.

Putin said discussions would begin with key areas of bilateral cooperation, particularly the economy, before expanding to broader talks involving senior officials and business leaders from both countries.

He added that despite external pressures and Western sanctions, economic cooperation between Moscow and Beijing has remained strong, especially in energy and trade sectors.
