Afghanistan, July 31 -- Afghanistan will launch a 10-day multi-vaccine campaign on August 1 to provide children with vaccines according to their age and immunisation needs, the Polio-Free Afghanistan initiative said, as health authorities continue efforts to protect children against polio and other preventable diseases.
The campaign will include oral polio vaccine, inactivated polio vaccine, measles, pentavalent and pneumococcal vaccines, as well as vaccination against rotavirus, which causes severe diarrhoeal disease in children. Families have been urged to cooperate with health workers and ensure eligible children receive the recommended doses.
