Afghanistan, Oct. 9 -- The U.S. Department of Defense says the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, the former Army psychiatrist convicted of killing 13 people in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, will be livestreamed when he is executed by firing squad on December 3.
The announcement follows Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's statement that the execution would be made public. A Pentagon official subsequently confirmed to U.S. media that the event would be livestreamed, although officials have not yet released details about how the broadcast will be conducted or who will be able to view it.
