Afghanistan, March 16 -- The Taliban say two children were killed and two others wounded after artillery fired by Pakistan struck residential areas in Khost Province.
According to Mastaghfar Gurbaz, spokesperson for the Taliban governor in Khost, Pakistani artillery shells hit civilian homes in the "Afghan-Dubai" area of the Spera district on Sunday.
Local sources said several houses belonging to residents were damaged or destroyed during the shelling, raising fears among villagers living close to the border.
Meanwhile, Taliban deputy spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat said another civilian was killed in artillery fire in Kamdesh district of Nuristan Province, where a house was reportedly burned completely.
