Afghanistan, March 17 -- The Taliban deputy spokesman reported that a Pakistani attack on a 2,000-bed addiction treatment hospital in Kabul killed 400 people and injured 250 others.

Officials added that the casualty numbers may rise as rescue teams continue evacuating patients and surveying the extent of the damage across the city.

Pakistan carried out the strike on the 19th night of ongoing clashes with the Taliban, targeting the hospital located in eastern Kabul.

Residents of Kabul reported damage to dozens of homes due to explosions, with several buildings showing structural harm from the blasts.
