Afghanistan, July 1 -- Pakistan's military said it shot down four drones that entered its airspace from Afghanistan, accusing the Kabul of sending the aircraft across the border into Balochistan, further escalating tensions between the two neighbouring countries.
In a statement issued late Tuesday, the military's media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said the drones crossed into Pakistani airspace on June 30 from areas under Taliban control. It said Pakistan's air defence systems detected and intercepted all four drones in border areas of Balochistan, adding that the aircraft were intended for use by militant groups operating near the frontier.
