Afghanistan, May 29 -- Pakistan has expanded military operations inside Afghanistan, as cross-border clashes, airstrikes and diplomatic tensions continue escalating, The New York Times reported.
A report published Thursday by The New York Times said tensions and armed clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan continue to intensify despite diplomatic efforts by China to mediate between the two neighboring countries.
According to the report, relations between Islamabad and the Taliban administration have deteriorated sharply since Pakistan declared what officials described as an "open war" against Afghanistan earlier this year following escalating militant attacks inside Pakistani territory.
