Afghanistan, May 25 -- Shehbaz Sharif condemned the deadly explosion targeting a train near Quetta and said his government remains determined to eliminate terrorism across the country.

In a statement posted on X, Sharif described the attack as a "cowardly act of terrorism" and said such violence would not weaken the resolve of the Pakistani people or security institutions.

Pakistani media reported that the powerful blast struck a train near the Chaman railway crossing in Balochistan on Sunday, killing at least 24 people and wounding several others.

According to witnesses, the explosion was so intense that it was heard across distant parts of Quetta and caused damage to nearby residential buildings and commercial areas.
