Afghanistan, Oct. 2 -- Pakistan recorded its highest monthly number of militant attacks in 12 years in September 2026, with 225 attacks reported across the country, according to data from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).

The Islamabad-based institute said the number of attacks rose 13 percent from 199 in August, marking the third consecutive month of increase. The September attacks killed 259 people and injured 242 others, compared with 158 deaths and 181 injuries in August.
