Afghanistan, June 20 -- Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that approximately 2.4 million Afghan migrants have returned to Afghanistan since September 2023, as Pakistan continues one of the region's largest migrant repatriation and deportation campaigns.
In a message marking World Refugee Day on Saturday, Sharif said the figure includes both Afghans who returned voluntarily and those deported under Pakistan's migration policies. He reiterated Pakistan's commitment to refugee protection while calling for greater international responsibility toward displaced populations.
