Afghanistan, June 16 -- Pakistan's representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, said on Monday that it remained a matter of concern that some elements within Afghanistan were cooperating with terrorist groups, as he voiced support for the extension of the mandate of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).

Speaking during a UN Security Council meeting on Afghanistan, Ahmad said Pakistan continued to view the growing threat of terrorism emanating from Afghanistan as one of the country's most serious challenges.
