Afghanistan, July 2 -- Pakistan accused India on Thursday of backing militant groups in Afghanistan, responding to New Delhi's criticism of Islamabad's recent counterterrorism actions.

The allegations were made by Tahir Andrabi, spokesperson for Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to comments reported by the Pakistani newspaper The Nation early Thursday. Andrabi was responding to remarks by India's Ministry of External Affairs concerning Pakistan's recent counterterrorism operations involving Afghanistan.
