Afghanistan, May 21 -- The refugee and repatriation ministry said 307 Afghan nationals were released from prisons in Pakistan this week and returned to Afghanistan through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.
According to the ministry, 268 people entered through Torkham Border Crossing while 39 others returned through Spin Boldak Border Crossing.
Taliban officials said the detainees had been imprisoned in Pakistan due to a lack of legal residency documents.
Pakistan has continued detaining undocumented Afghan refugees as part of an ongoing nationwide crackdown that has affected refugees, journalists, activists and former Afghanistan government employees.
