Afghanistan, July 7 -- At least nine police officers were killed in a militant attack on a police facility in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, authorities said on Tuesday, as security forces launched a clearance operation to hunt down the attackers and secure the area.

According to Xinhua News Agency, reporting on July 7, heavily armed militants stormed a police installation in the Mangi Phase-III area of Ziarat district late Monday, triggering an hours-long exchange of gunfire with security personnel that continued into Tuesday.
