Afghanistan, June 3 -- Kuwait suspended operations at its international airport on Wednesday after what authorities described as an overnight drone attack that injured several people and damaged parts of the airport terminal.

The state news agency KUNA reported that flights scheduled for Wednesday were being diverted to alternative airports while authorities assessed the situation and carried out security inspections.

Kuwait's Ministry of Defense said the country had come under attack late Tuesday night. Officials reported injuries and damage at Kuwait International Airport, though they did not immediately provide details on the number of casualties or the extent of the destruction.
