Afghanistan, Aug. 1 -- Kuwait's air defence systems intercepted Iranian drones targeting military and critical facilities, the country's armed forces said on Saturday, as tensions continue to rise in the Gulf region.
Kuwait's General Staff said its air defence systems were responding to what it described as "hostile attacks" and confirmed that explosions heard in parts of the country were linked to interception operations.
Saudi Abdulaziz Al-Atwan, spokesperson for Kuwait's Ministry of Defence, said the military had detected and intercepted several Iranian drones that entered Kuwaiti airspace since early Friday.
