Afghanistan, June 1 -- Kaja Kallas said recent tensions between Pakistan and the Taliban have had serious humanitarian consequences and risk increasing instability and extremism in the region, urging both sides to pursue dialogue rather than military escalation.

"Dialogue, not airstrikes, is the best path to de-escalation," she said, adding that the European Union has consistently called on all parties to exercise restraint and seek a political solution.
