Afghanistan, July 6 -- Thieves stole about 20 pieces of jewelry worth nearly 4 million euros (about $4.7 million) from the Lalique Museum in eastern France early on Sunday after breaking into the building through an emergency exit, French media reported.
According to French media reports, the burglars first tried to enter through the museum's main entrance at around 5:30 a.m. but abandoned the attempt after triggering the alarm system. They then gained access through an emergency exit, smashed six display cases in the jewelry gallery and fled with the valuables before security personnel arrived.
