Afghanistan, March 17 -- Israel confirmed that senior Iranian official Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, was killed in a Monday night airstrike, according to statements by Defense Minister Israel Katz and the Israeli military.
The Israeli army said the operation was a "precise strike" carried out by the air force based on intelligence from military intelligence and Mossad, targeting Larijani as a key figure.
