Afghanistan, May 1 -- Israel said it struck 40 Hezbollah sites in Lebanon, as tensions persist despite ceasefire and concerns grow over regional security and civilians.

Israel's military said it carried out strikes on around 40 Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, escalating tensions despite an existing ceasefire framework. The army said the sites were being used by Hezbollah fighters.

According to reports, Israeli forces also activated air defense systems after detecting an unidentified aerial object in the north, which was later intercepted. The incident highlights ongoing security threats along the border.
