Afghanistan, March 7 -- An Iranian Kurdish opposition group based in Iraq says it is considering launching a possible ground operation inside Iran amid the ongoing regional conflict.
Babashikh Hosseini, secretary-general of the Khabat Organization of Iranian Kurdistan, said such an operation has become "very likely" under the current circumstances.
In comments reported by Al Jazeera, Hosseini said the United States has contacted the group through various channels during the recent escalation.
He stressed that the group has not yet begun any offensive military action inside Iran but said preparations have existed for a long time.
