Afghanistan, July 25 -- Akbar Abdi, one of Iran's best-known film and television actors, has died at the age of 65 after suffering cardiac arrest, Iranian state media reported Friday.
Iranian state news agencies reported Abdi's death. Reports stated that he had been hospitalised several times in recent years because of heart and kidney problems and had received medical treatment in recent months.
Abdi was also widely known in Afghanistan, where generations of viewers became familiar with his performances in Iranian films and television productions broadcast across the country.
