Afghanistan, June 22 -- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said some of Iran's frozen assets had been released and a major reconstruction and development initiative had begun following the first round of U.S.-Iran negotiations in Switzerland, describing the talks as a step forward in implementing a recently signed agreement between Tehran and Washington.

Araqchi said restrictions on Iranian oil and petrochemical exports had been eased and that some blocked funds had been released, though he did not provide details. Iran had previously sought access to billions of dollars in frozen assets as part of any agreement with the United States.
