Afghanistan, June 28 -- Iran said on Saturday it had carried out retaliatory strikes against positions linked to the United States following recent US air attacks, as tensions between Tehran and Washington continued despite a recently announced ceasefire framework.
According to Al Jazeera, Iranian military forces launched the operation after US airstrikes targeted sites along Iran's southern coast. Iranian officials said the American attacks violated both the United Nations Charter and the recently agreed framework intended to halt hostilities between the two countries.
