Afghanistan, March 16 -- Abbas Araghchi said Israeli strikes targeting fuel storage facilities in Tehran represent a serious violation of international law and could cause long-term environmental damage.

Writing on X on Monday, Araghchi described the attacks by Israel as a form of "environmental genocide."

He warned that residents living near the targeted facilities could face serious and long-lasting health risks due to toxic pollution released into the surrounding environment.

According to the Iranian foreign minister, contamination of soil and underground water resources may cause environmental and public health consequences that could affect communities for generations.
