Afghanistan, March 11 -- Internet monitoring group NetBlocks says the nationwide internet shutdown in Iran has entered its twelfth day, severely limiting access to online services across the country.

In a statement on Wednesday, NetBlocks said that after more than 264 hours, internet connectivity in Iran remains at just one percent of normal levels, indicating a near-total blackout.

Iran's presidential office spokesman has confirmed that only individuals placed on an official "whitelist" currently have access to the internet during the shutdown.

State-run Iranian media outlets continue to operate online and broadcast the government's position regarding the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel.
