Afghanistan, May 24 -- International media outlets reported that Iran has agreed to a draft framework aimed at halting regional hostilities and reopening the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

Axios cited a US official as saying the proposed agreement between Washington and Tehran would take the form of a renewable 60-day memorandum of understanding.

According to the draft proposal, Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz, remove naval mines and allow commercial vessels to pass freely without transit fees, while the United States would ease maritime restrictions and provide sanctions waivers for Iranian oil exports.
