Afghanistan, May 22 -- India said it has sent 20 tons of vaccine-related medical supplies to Kabul to support child immunization programs in Afghanistan.
Indian foreign ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said the shipment included essential materials used in preparing BCG, tetanus and diphtheria vaccines.
India said additional medical assistance and healthcare supplies would also be sent to Afghanistan in the coming months as part of continued humanitarian support.
New Delhi described the aid as an important step in supporting Afghanistan's healthcare sector and improving protection for children against preventable diseases.
