Afghanistan, June 17 -- India has delivered a new shipment of humanitarian medical assistance to Afghanistan, saying the aid is part of its continued support for the people of Afghanistan amid growing healthcare challenges in the country.

"India delivers another 5 tonnes of essential medicines to Kabul, reaffirming its enduring commitment to humanitarian assistance and the well-being of the Afghan people," Randhir Jaiswal wrote on X on Wednesday, June 17.

The shipment comes as Afghanistan's healthcare sector continues to face shortages of medicines and rising treatment costs. Health experts have warned that limited access to essential drugs is placing additional pressure on patients and medical facilities across the country.
