Afghanistan, June 25 -- A senior Iranian lawmaker has said the security environment in the Strait of Hormuz has fundamentally changed and will not return to its pre-war condition, while insisting that Tehran's nuclear rights remain non-negotiable in ongoing diplomacy with the United States.

Behnam Saeedi, secretary of the Iranian parliament's National Security Commission, said Iran would not compromise on what it considers its nuclear rights under any future agreement.

"The Strait of Hormuz will never return to its previous situation," Saeedi said, according to Iranian media, adding that Iran's diplomatic team would not retreat from the country's nuclear positions.
