Afghanistan, Aug. 14 -- A helicopter belonging to Ministry of Defense was damaged while landing in Badakhshan province after one of its rotors struck a pole, the ministry said, contradicting an earlier report that the aircraft had crashed after coming under attack.

Enayatullah Khwarazmi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, said in a post on X late Thursday that the helicopter was damaged during landing after its rotor hit a pole. He said no one was injured.

Earlier, reports indicated that a helicopter had crashed in Nusay district of Badakhshan after coming under attack from fighters under the command of Juma Khan Fateh, described by the source as a dissident commander.
