Afghanistan, May 24 -- Local sources reported a deadly shooting Sunday at Sarai Shahzada, the largest currency exchange market in Kabul, where a gunman allegedly opened fire on several people before fleeing the scene.

Witnesses said the attacker entered the market carrying a Kalashnikov rifle and fired multiple shots at traders and visitors inside the busy financial center.

Local sources confirmed that several people were killed or wounded, although exact casualty figures were not immediately available. Some witnesses suggested the incident may have been linked to an armed robbery attempt.
