Afghanistan, July 23 -- France recorded at least 5,764 heat-related deaths between June 17 and July 2, a 36% increase compared with the relevant baseline, as the country faced a period of extreme temperatures, according to the national public health agency.
Reuters reported the figures on Wednesday, citing the agency, which said people aged 75 and older accounted for about two-thirds of the deaths recorded during the period.
