Afghanistan, June 17 -- US authorities say they have disrupted a planned mass-casualty attack targeting a major UFC event at the White House, arresting five suspects before the plot could be carried out.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced the arrest of five suspects accused of planning a deadly attack on the "UFC Freedom 250" event held on the White House grounds earlier this month.

According to court documents, the suspects allegedly intended to use explosive-laden drones to strike the northern section of the White House complex and then deploy snipers to target senior officials and other attendees as they attempted to evacuate.
