Afghanistan, May 20 -- Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Bank have launched a joint program aimed at supporting agricultural businesses, creating jobs and strengthening rural economies across Afghanistan.
FAO said Wednesday that five agricultural businesses were selected as the first recipients of financial support under the initiative to help expand production and improve market access.
The selected businesses operate in Herat, Kapisa, Kunduz, Logar and Takhar, focusing on seed production, saffron processing, dairy products, soy processing and food manufacturing.
