Afghanistan, May 19 -- Asif Durrani, Pakistan's former ambassador to Iran, said Washington's expectation that Tehran would dismantle its nuclear program without sanctions relief "will not succeed."
Durrani wrote on X on Tuesday, May 19, that no independent country would accept unilateral concessions under economic pressure.
He warned that a prolonged deadlock between the United States and Iran would not remain confined to the region and could impose wider economic and strategic costs on the world.
According to Durrani, rising oil prices, inflation, supply chain disruptions and escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, could push the global economy toward deeper uncertainty.
