Afghanistan, May 20 -- Taliban authorities in Kabul said former Afghan general Shaourgul Pashtun has been arrested over the killing of two women and has confessed to the crime.

Police spokesperson Khalid Zadran said the former military commander was detained Friday in Kabul's District 17 and that his case would be referred to judicial authorities after investigations are completed.

Local media previously reported that the bodies of two women; believed to be a mother and daughter from Dasht-e-Barchi, were discovered near Marshal Fahim Road in western Kabul last week.

According to local sources, the victims, aged about 19 and 35, were allegedly killed inside a tailoring workshop in Kabul's "500 Family" area. The motive behind the killings ...
