Afghanistan, Aug. 5 -- The European Union has announced €11 million in funding for a new programme aimed at strengthening livestock production, improving food security and helping vulnerable communities in Afghanistan adapt to climate-related challenges.
The EU delegation said the initiative will support rural livelihoods by improving livestock management, increasing local food production and helping communities affected by economic hardship and environmental pressures.
The programme is expected to benefit around 300,000 families across 17 provinces of Afghanistan, particularly rural households that rely on livestock and agriculture as their main sources of income.
