Afghanistan, June 24 -- The European Union has allocated €20 million to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to support health care and protection services for returnees and internally displaced people in Afghanistan, the EU delegation in Kabul announced on Tuesday.
According to the EU, the funding will help expand access to essential health services, emergency assistance and protection programs for vulnerable Afghans, particularly returning migrants and families displaced by conflict, economic hardship and natural disasters.
The assistance comes as Afghanistan faces a growing humanitarian challenge following the return of hundreds of thousands of Afghans from neighboring countries, particularly Iran and Pakistan. Aid ...
