Afghanistan, May 31 -- Badr Abdelatty has called for the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon during a telephone conversation with Nawaf Salam, amid continued military tensions in southern Lebanon.
According to reports by Al Jazeera, the Egyptian foreign minister reaffirmed Cairo's support for Lebanon and stressed that any violation of Lebanese sovereignty constitutes a breach of international law.
Abdelatty also voiced support for the Lebanese state and its armed forces, emphasizing that only the Lebanese government should possess weapons within the country. He said armed authority should remain exclusively in the hands of state institutions and not non-state actors, including Hezbollah.
