Afghanistan, May 18 -- Denmark has contributed more than $5 million to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund to support urgent relief operations across the country.

United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said new humanitarian funding will support emergency relief programs in Afghanistan and help vulnerable communities access critical assistance.

The UN agency said the additional funding will strengthen delivery of essential services and cover parts of ongoing humanitarian operations targeting people affected by crisis conditions across the country.
