Afghanistan, April 12 -- Unidentified gunmen opened fire on members of the Shi'ite Hazara community in Quetta, killing at least four people and injuring others, according to local media reports.

The attack took place on Sunday in the Hazara Ganji area of Balochistan, a region that has repeatedly witnessed sectarian violence targeting minority communities.

Witnesses said the assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting, and no group has so far claimed responsibility, leaving security officials searching for leads.

The Hazara community, which is predominantly Shi'ite and easily identifiable due to distinct ethnic features, has long faced targeted attacks by militant groups in Pakistan.
